Ashley Coward is the titular main protagonist of The Bustling Modern Life of Ashley. She is a Canadian girl who moves to California in the USA, where she befriends an adventurous girl named Hina Hinata.
Development[]
In the making of Ashley's character, Lily (CourtneyTotalDrama9000) thought of making a cartoon fanon show that is based off of Club Roblox, a playable game created by Block Evolution Studios on Roblox. The first two characters she put in were Olivia Ru and Hina Hinata, but she felt like they had too much complex traits to be a simple main character. She brought her sister, Haily, in to help her with ideas. After a few minutes of talking, they thought of making a cowardly, excessively afraid blonde white female as a young adult. Because of the show's inspiration is mainly from Rocko's Modern Life, her personality was made to be matched up with Rocko, the main protagonist.
Lily then decided to make her best friends with Heffer Wolfe-inspired Hina Hinata, who is a more rebellious and fearless Asian girl who often drags her into turbulent situations. Along with Ashley's friend being brought into the character's life, Lily decided to make an archenemy for her. The first thought was Delilah Cookbaker, who was inspired by Chef Saltbaker from Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, and is presented as a typical mean girl. However, using more inspiration from Rocko's Modern Life, Lily chose to give Ashley two archenemy's one of them being her grumpy old neighbor Edward Meddle, who is inspired by Ed Bighead, and then using Delilah Cookbaker as another one of her archenemies.
For her voice prediction, it would be Tina Majorino, due to her shy voice impression being used for playing Deb Bradshaw, a shy quiet girl in Napoleon Dynamite.

Ashley Coward is a short 20-year-old woman with short neck-length blonde hair and peach skin, along with large green eyes. She wears a light pink tank-top, blue ripped jeans with darker pockets, black canvas shoes, a black belt with a gold buckle and a black choker on her neck. She has three rips on her jeans, two on her left leg and one on her right leg. On the left leg, she has one rip on her thigh and one on the calf area. On the right leg, she has a rip on her knee that reveals a brown adhesive bandage, indicating that she's got a small wound.
